Beautiful rooms, outstanding service. A resort hotel basically. Loved the organic marine-styling architecture and aesthetic/design done with lots of local artisans and local craftsmen. Lots of wood, stone and other organic materials integrated into the design. Lots of curved lines. Really loved the (free but you have to book it) salt room in the spa, as well as the (no need to book it) eucalyptus steam room and the infrared sauna. There's a cold plunge for those who like that sort of thing. I would have preferred a hot tub myself. The pool is a bit small but it is good to do the hot/cold spa cycle. There's also a secret speakeasy on the premises. Great location right on the boardwalk. Felt completely pampered during our stay. You are welcomed with shortbread cookies and herbal tea in the room. The bathroom uses Aesop products, etc. There is also a small private art gallery on site. Definitely worth treating yourself!

Fantastic stay at the Muir Hotel Halifax! The rooms are gorgeous, the staff is exceptionally helpful, and the complimentary car service is a huge plus. Great overall experience! Minor flaws: ill-fitted curtains and poor signage on the one-way street. If you can afford it, it's worth it.

The Muir hotel is incredible, i have stayed twice and will continue to book when visiting Halifax. The staff is incredible, I want to take a moment to shout out Ron, such a kind soul! Made my husband and I feel so welcomed and had such lovely energy! The rooms are lovely, beautifully decorated, great shower! The Aesop soaps and shampoos are a great touch. Book time in the salt room at the pool!

The hotel and spa were excellent! A special shoutout to Yeju, Ron, and Bhavuk at the spa reception, who were absolutely fantastic. They were so kind, hospitable, and welcoming, and their wonderful energy made our engagement celebration feel even more special. The thoughtful delivery to our room was such a lovely touch and truly made us feel celebrated. The entire spa experience was amazing. We loved the salt room, steam room, pool, cold plunge, and sauna, and the staff made everything feel relaxing, warm, and memorable. We are so happy with our experience and will absolutely return!

Our stay was for a special anniversary and extra treats were brought to our room soon after our arrival. A phone call was made to ensure everything was satisfactory in our room. The staff are very attentive and went over and beyond in helping me licate alist utem. The vaket service is ?n par with what you woukd expect with a luxury hotel. The furnishings in the room and lobby exhibit polished taste.

We’ve stayed at Muir several times now, and it continues to impress us every visit. The hotel itself is visually stunning from the moment you walk in; modern, elegant, and beautifully designed with incredible attention to detail. We’ve always been fortunate enough to be given a harbour view room, and it never gets old waking up to that scenery. The rooms are fully automated and extremely comfortable, making everything feel seamless and easy to control. The layout and design also feel very thoughtful. If anyone had accessibility needs, the hotel would be genuinely accommodating and easy to navigate. What really stands out is the staff. Every single visit, they go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and taken care of, which makes a huge difference in the overall experience. Having a speakeasy and a gourmet restaurant right in the hotel adds such a unique touch, and the spa is a beautiful bonus that makes the stay feel even more luxurious and relaxing. Overall, it’s an exceptional hotel experience; comfortable, stylish, and consistently delivered with outstanding service.

Our four-night stay at Muir Hotel was a true wow from beginning to end. Everything about this hotel feels special: the waterfront location, the views, the design, the atmosphere, the comfort of the room, the bedding, the products, the cleanliness… every detail was beautiful and thoughtfully done. The spa area was also such a lovely part of the experience. Calm, elegant, and beautifully maintained, it added another layer of relaxation to an already memorable stay. But what made our stay truly unforgettable was the service. The team at Muir is exceptional. Every person we met made us feel genuinely welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. There is a warmth and attention to detail that you feel everywhere, from arrival to departure. Nothing felt forced or overly formal. It was simply thoughtful, natural, and consistently impressive. Muir has that rare ability to make luxury feel warm and effortless. The whole experience was beautiful, relaxing, and memorable. A huge thank you to the entire team. This was one of those stays we will remember for a long time.

Premiuim hotel in a great location! We stayed at the Muir for 2 nights this week and had a pleasant stay. This hotel is located right on the water front downtown, the parking was easy as you only have to use the underground parking on the right of the hôtel, $35 a night but totally worth it for that area. From there you take an elevator to the lobby to check in, You could also pull in front if needed to but it was under construction. We were able to drop a suitcase ahead of time at the front desk as we came in early which was convenient. This was our second stay at the Muir, The Rooms are well appointed and we had a great view of the harbor. Employées were courteous and helpful. this is a pleasant hotel to stay at. We didn’t use the restaurant. The gym area is huge and well appointed, I found the pool a bit smaller than I hope but it is well set up and easy to use. Overall this is a new hôtel, well situated downtown with easy access to everything and even a shuttle limo to take you anywhere downtown free of charge. The rooms are premium. We have expérience with other hôtels downtown and this one is our favorite as it is new and well appointed. We had bad expérience else where where rooms felt old and parking was problématic. We appreciated the personalize service at the Muir. Room prices are on the high side but it is worth it if you want a spécial stay while in Halifax.

Great hotel but a few hiccups that caused the 4/5 review. Employees were great and staff very friendly. I found it unfortunate as a group that was visiting was that I could not get to the floor where my friends were staying. The room key locks you to your floor. Another small issue was the coffee pods in the room were not replaced. When i requested more it took a second phone call to the front desk and 45 minutes later i had a coffee. The last issue again minor - could be a hygiene issue and I respect the hotels policy. I wear flat sandals to workout with weights to improve foot and ankle stability. I was asked to leave so I went to the pool and walked barefoot on the pool deck, sauna and salt room.

Our stay at the Muir was hands down one of the very best – no, scratch that, the best hotel experience we've ever had. For starters, the design and the way the spaces are put together made us feel ridiculously comfortable right from the off. Of course taste is subjective – but there's no arguing that every last detail has been thought through from A to Z and executed to an absolutely impeccable standard and an genuinely organic, delightfully cosy & stimulating atmosphere. The real gem of the place, though, is the people and their flawless service. From the doorman to the front desk, housekeeping, bar staff and restaurant team – everything ticked along like the softest, most elegant grandfather clock in the world: precise, calm, never a fuss, and somehow completely unobtrusive. It's as though a staff member materialises quietly from behind a pot plant the precise second you realise both hands are full, or just as that little question is forming in your head. They do it so naturally and discreetly that you genuinely start feeling like you're being looked after by your own family - the nicest bits of it. No flashy nonsense, no cheap show-off tricks – and I take my hat off to the whole team for having the confidence to skip all that. By some wonderful stroke of luck (or possibly excellent meteorology planning on their part), the blizzard forced us to extend our stay by an extra night – and we weren't exactly complaining. P.S. Those "dried raisins" on the cheese-and-chocolate board? Yeah… they turned out to be Amarena cherries. Just as I was mentally high-fiving myself with a smug "Gotcha!", I looked down in quiet defeat and realised the whole thing was clearly part of a delightfully cheeky little in-joke. Well played, Muir. Very well played. Thank you for everything, you absolute legends. We'll be back! ?
