*Room was comfy and relaxing with a huge window? *Reception was accommodating (was the name Mihkl?) *Shower had some hair strands on the walls *Coffeemaker was not working (maybe better if offered to replace the unit) *TV's had to be updated, or at least add more channels with different shows *Phone has no dial tone *Breakfast was no good, no hot meals offered) just breads and cereals that's it. (Disappointed) * Our stay wasn't worth the price

NoOT RECOMMENDED.. we booked room with included breakfast . we all know there is nothing free or complimentary We already pay for every service they promised to provide us. In breakfast hot food containers were empty no one cooked anything and left the empty pots there and there were bagles but no cream cheese, there was pancake maker that was not working properly pancakes comes out half cooked. Not impressed . Not many options of food as compare to other hotels who charge the same with included breakfast .

Dear Guest Relations Team, I am writing as a loyal IHG member to share my concerns regarding a recent stay at your Holiday Inn property in Bedford (Holiday Inn Express & Suites Halifax - Bedford, an IHG Hotel). Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing hotel experience I have had during my years of staying with IHG brands. My concerns began at the front desk. After checking in, I politely asked whether a toothbrush and toothpaste were available. The staff member simply replied, “No,” in a very cold and dismissive manner. I understand that supplies can occasionally run out, and that would not have been a problem. What surprised me was the lack of courtesy or apology. At most IHG properties, staff members are consistently professional and make an effort to assist guests, even when they cannot fulfill a request. During this stay, however, I found several staff members to be noticeably unfriendly. This gave me the impression that customer service standards may not be receiving the attention they deserve. Later that evening, after taking a shower, I discovered that the body lotion dispenser in the bathroom was completely empty. This raised concerns about the room inspection process. One would normally expect housekeeping staff to check and refill essential amenities after each guest checks out. An empty dispenser suggests either that it had not been refilled for some time or that the room was not carefully inspected before my arrival. My most serious concern occurred during breakfast the following morning. The pancake machine was not functioning properly, and I observed an employee attempting to fix the issue. What troubled me was that the employee had just been wiping tables with a cloth and then, without washing their hands or changing gloves, inserted their bare fingers into the pancake batter bag to remove an obstruction. Witnessing this left me deeply uncomfortable. As a result, I was unable to continue eating breakfast because I could not stop wondering whether similar food-handling practices might be occurring elsewhere in the kitchen. Given the cost of the stay—well over $200—I found this experience particularly disappointing. More importantly, the issues I encountered involved not only customer service but also housekeeping standards and food safety practices. I am not writing simply to complain. Rather, I hope this feedback will be taken seriously and used as an opportunity for improvement. I have generally enjoyed my experiences with IHG properties and would like to continue choosing your brand in the future. However, the standards I encountered during this stay fell far below what I have come to expect from IHG. Thank you for taking the time to review my concerns. I would appreciate knowing that these matters have been brought to the attention of the appropriate management team. Sincerely, IHG One Rewards Member

The hotel was very clean and in a great location, especially being so close to the airport. The staff were very friendly and welcoming both at check-in and check-out. The buffet breakfast was fairly basic, but it was filling and had everything we needed to start the day. Our room was very spacious with two queen-size beds and a walk-in shower, which was especially helpful as my mom has mobility issues. The only downside was the noise level. Our room faced the road and it was quite noisy at times. I’m not sure if the highway-facing rooms are any quieter, but noise was definitely noticeable from our side of the hotel. Overall, it was a good, basic hotel for a one-night stay and conveniently located close to shopping plazas and sightseeing areas if you have a car.

This whole two days experience has been awful. -No parking for a bus is a massive issue. The driveway does not wrap around and is limited even for regular vehicles. -My check in was awful... The tour group I'm driving booked my room and it was almost an hour to get checked in from the back and forth phone calls. - Pool is closed -gym is dirty with no wipes to clean the equipment. -The breakfast was the EXACT same both days...nothing changed up...just dry sausages (turkey and pork in the same dish!) , cold hash browns, and cheese omelettes..even the fruit and muffins were the same. -Elevator is slow but I should be thankful it's even back up running. -I ran up the stairs on the ground level and they stop at the first floor. Then you have to go to the side end emergency stairs that are dirty. -My room was a king suite and very bland/mid. The floor was filthy like I'm talking old disgusting stain still there. I wouldn't take my shoes off and I showered with sandals on as the shower was disgusting too. The bed was full of dips with a hump in the middle. The TV was not centered to the bed. -the whole place is noisy! You're next to a busy highway so lots of traffic noise. The hallways is loud from people and doors banging. You can hear your neighbours using the bathroom ffs. Honestly stay anywhere else as this is not a typical holiday inn experience.

The rooms are super spacious and suitable, however, the heating sometimes leaves a smell similar to burning leather and cigarettes. It will randomly turn on and wake my roomates and I up and it doesn't heat up all of the room, leaving some spaces cold. The bathrooms are very nice and kept clean and sanitary. The bedsheets are really thin though and I was left shivering even with heating on.

No mention that the pool was closed or that the elevators were out of service, no refund was offered. We would have chosen a different hotel if we had known in advance. We live in Sackville (10 minutes away) and booked specifically for the pool, our kids were looking forward to swimming. Instead, we were left with no options, no notice and two disappointed kids during March break.. It would have been better to stay home... No effort to show understanding only an effort to take payment. We should have been informed of these issues ahead of time. Room had a weird smell. Window fell in when I tried to open it. I often stay at holiday Inns when traveling on business and was surprised by both quality and service. On the plus side the beds were comfortable breakfast was good, and staff working breakfast were great

I really enjoyed the bar at the Holiday Inn Express. The cocktails were excellent, well made, and very tasty. There was a great selection, and everything we tried was delicious. The bartender was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, perfect for ending the day. I highly recommend stopping by the bar if you stay at this hotel!

We came up from Cape Breton to stay for 2 nights with our daughters. We realized when we left CB, we had forgotten our daughter’s floatie for the pool. We called the hotel to see if they provide any life jackets or floats, we were told they do not and the gentleman on thephone apologized. Not a problem! We found one on marketplace, a little out of the way from the hotel, but worth it- as this was the main reason we chose this hotel over the much cheaper pool-less version. Imagine our dissapointment once we finally arrive, only to be told the elevator AND POOL are out of service. No mention of this on the phone the hour before we arrive when we called SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE POOL (made a purchase we didn’t need to specifically for the pool based off that phone call) and are told “oops sorry we didn’t call or let you know.” Zero communication. Zero compassion. Zero compensation. We canceled our reservation, and now they are holding our money hostage. I will NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn or family hotel EVER again. And I will recommend the same to all who will listen.
