The Hotel Halifax receives consistently positive feedback, particularly highlighting its excellent location near Halifax’s attractions and waterfront. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean and renovated rooms, and convenient amenities. However, ongoing construction impacts some facilities and can result in noise disruptions.
We stayed at the Delta at the end of July during our trip to Halifax, and overall, we really enjoyed our time there. The room looked like it had been recently renovated—everything felt fresh and clean. The location was a huge plus, close to all the major attractions and the waterfront, which made exploring the city super easy. We also appreciated the convenient parking (for a fee); since we could walk to most places, we just left our rental car parked out front for most of the trip. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The front reception team even let us check in early and gave us helpful info about nearby attractions, which we really appreciated. All in all, a solid stay. Would definitely recommend for the location, service, and overall comfort.
Perfect location for a stay in Downtown Halifax. Service was excellent, always fast and caring. They upgraded our room and gave us some complimentary Procesco sparkling wine. Room decor and furniture are great. Refreshments at the lobby. The pantry is definitely worth it. Delicious cookies and cake. Tons of choice! To be considered: AC in the rooms could be upgraded to be a bit more comfortable. Pool area is really only for families; no sauna nor jacuzzi. Would absolutely stay there again. Our room: Premium Pantry Access, Deluxe King, City View
First time in Halifax, and will definitely be back and stay at the Delta. We arrived later then we though at 9pm and check in was seamless. They told us about water refill stations on every floor, (5 stars just for that). There is a parking garage next to the hotel, with plenty of parking, they validate your ticket at the front desk, and I had no issues going in and out of the garge for our stay. They provide a clean bottle in your room, but we had brought our canisters. I had asked about ice, and they gave us a bucket and even filled it for us ( after our 10hr drive, greatly appreciated that little bit of help!!!) . Had no issues with noise in the room, couldn't hear anybody around us. Throughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast, it was delicious. We also had eaten off the menu, the avocado toast and lobster eggs benedict were delicious. Serena was our server for the couple of days there and she was awesome!!! Rooms are very clean and spacious, no complaints. All the staff we encountered made us feel welcomed.
We recently stayed at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Halifax Downtown and had a fabulous experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the amenities made our stay even more enjoyable. Svetlana did an outstanding job arranging our rooms, they were absolutely perfect. Chloe was a wealth of information and genuinely enjoyed sharing her knowledge of the area, which made our visit even more special. Samantha was also incredibly helpful on numerous occasions. The entire team was fantastic. Polite, approachable, and always greeted us with a smile. Their exceptional customer service made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Thank you all for making our stay so pleasant. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Halifax!
This hotel exceeded all of our expectations! Everything was spotless and exceptionally clean. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They are truly dog-friendly and made our pup feel just as welcome as we were. Everyone was so accommodating, and the level of service was outstanding. The restaurant has delicious food and excellent service. They may have snuck a piece or two of Bacon to our dogs. ?? Overall, an incredible experience—we'll definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel! Tim, Carey, Michael Thank You for making it perfect!
Recently stayed between May 25 - 28, location was convenient as it was near waterfront. Check in was smooth and was surprised when told I was offered an upgrade. Unfortunately experience went down hill from that point on. When I got to my hotel room, it was actually an accessible room which I did not book. Then on the morning of May 27 we had no hot water for the entire hotel. I then proceed to inquire with front desk and was told they are aware of the issue. Also brought up why hotel staff falsely inform my room was upgraded when it was switched to an accessible room. Was told we did not want you to lose out on a king bed instead of 2 queen since we are fully booked. Unacceptable imo as you should be transparent with your guest then let them decide instead of trying to cover up a mistake. Disappointed with overall experience.
I stayed here with my partner and grabbed a drink at the hotel bar before our dinner reservations where we were served by the lovely Nicole! We had a lovely chat and she was so sweet to us! I’d definitely come back just for a drink or two.
Good location on the edge of downtown with renovated rooms that are also decent. Stayed here May 25th-28th 2026. Barely any hot water the first morning, none on the second. Noisy! Can hear everything going on in the hallway. Can hear everything going on in the adjacent room. Noisy in-room HVAC system to go with that. Lastly, ridiculous loud construction noises on the door above. All of that for an absurd price. Choose somewhere else if you want value and a peaceful stay.
Me and my family stayed here for 3 days and had a great experience. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were always nice, friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. We were fully stocked with towels, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner, and the rooms were cleaned regularly with great attention to detail. The location is excellent, with lots of great restaurant options and the waterfront all within a short walking distance. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting Halifax for the first time.
Close to the QEII. Rooms were updated and clean. Beds were decently comfortable. We only had interaction with the front desk staff as we arrived in the evening and left shortly after 6 am. The pool is not open and the tv was not working. Unfortunately, there was jackhammering close by until almost 9 pm.
