Four Sisters, One Fabulous Airstream & A Whole Lot of Memories! Four sisters + a 2026 Atlantic Canada road trip + a vintage Airstream campground = pretty much the perfect combination! Somehow, during all our trip planning, this unique accommodation popped up — and it could not have been a more perfect find. One of my sisters is absolutely obsessed with Airstreams and all things retro/vintage, so needless to say, she was ALL IN! From the very beginning, Ryan was an absolute joy to deal with. He was wonderful to plan with and an even better host once we arrived — gracious, generous, kind and genuinely welcoming. He even took the time to show us through some of the other “girls,” which had our retro-loving sister completely in her happy place! Our home for the stay was Rose, and she was a beauty! The trailer was beautifully appointed, comfortable and had everything we needed. The campground itself was very clean and well maintained, and the little extras — like the additional firewood Ryan gave us so we could keep our bonfire going a little longer — were such a thoughtful touch. Check-in was also part of the fun. It was a unique introduction to what turned out to be a wonderfully unique stay, and definitely an experience the four of us will remember. If we had one suggestion, it would be to give the campground store a little more love. We would have LOVED to leave with a vintage-inspired T-shirt, mug, sticker or some other fun keepsake from our stay. A place this unique deserves some equally unique souvenirs! Overall, we had an absolute blast. It was quirky, nostalgic, comfortable and completely different from your typical accommodation — exactly what we were hoping for on our sister adventure. And the location? Perfect! Close enough to Halifax to make exploring easy, but far enough away that we didn’t have to deal with the hustle and hassle of staying right in the city. Four sisters, one fabulous Airstream, a bonfire, lots of laughs and some very happy memories. What more could you ask for? We’d absolutely stay again! ??
This was our second time visiting and will absolutely not be the last, we have every intention of making it an annual event. The hosts are as delightful as the rvs. The nostalgia and comfort are second to none!! We love it here??
My family and I recently stayed at shubiecamground in Dartmouth. I can not begin to explain how much we needed this mini getaway from life. We have been going through it, just as many other families in life, and needed an escape. Even before explaining our weird/sad life altering situation to these wonderful camp employees, they were already were super friendly and accommodating. After Hearing our story they were touched by us. My little girl had an absolute blast and they made her stay so memorable and exciting and everyday the staff treated her like a little princess. It's a very kid friendly environment, clean, and clearly as you can see from my photos it's very luxurious. The beach water was warm and the playground was perfect for big children and for toddlers too, like my child. People in the Campground were very friendly and sociable and loved having company around to chat with them. Which my family appreciated being new comers here to Halifax and the Dartmouth area. If you or someone you know needs a tiny getaway not far from the city. Please consider Vintage Vacations at shubie Campground. For our particular stay We chose the 1955 Nala trailer and it was fully loaded with anything we could have needed. You could choose these luxurious campers like we did or just grab your tent and go or your hitch on your trailer. Also, If anything, we over packed for camping. The employees thought of everything for us and went above and beyond when we stayed with them. Things like Firewood and ice was delivered everyday to us and my baby girl was presented with a ice cream, and a smiling face each day, which made the experience so much more wholesome for our families 1st camping trip here in Dartmouth, and my 2 year old childs 1st time as well. I also love how easy they made it to find them. Being from Cape Berton and new to this area. Was Super easy to find!! I'm very pleased to leave a satisfying review. Way to go shubie Campground. Keep up the good work
I do not typically enjoy camping but our stay was truly exceptional! The team - Ryan in particular - was so hospitable throughout our entire long weekend. We contacted them the day of arrival because we greatly underestimated our travel time. Ryan took it in stride and gave us his personal information so we could call him once we arrived. He was patient, even though it was extremely late, and walked us through the unit and answered questions. Every detail was meticulously arranged and the airstream (Rose) was perfect for our family. The outdoor deck was a wonderful touch that we enjoyed every evening. The location was also perfect for hiking and kayaking - which we enjoyed everyday. Note: make sure to bring peanuts on your hikes because the local squirrels expect you to to have something on hand. If you’ve taken the time to read this entire review then please don’t hesitate and book your vacation in the airstreams now. If not for the airstreams, for Ryan and the team who will truly make your stay unforgettable.
This is an amazing place to stay if you are headed to Halifax/Dartmouth area! The details in each trailer are STUNNING and the trailers are cozy. Private beach, walking trails and you are right in the city to tour around. Highly recommend!!!
Absolutely fabulous! My husband and I spent 8 nights in Roxanne. She was an absolute beauty complete with a full shower, a kitchen with all the necessities, the most comfortable bed, and a deck with a BBQ and outdoor furniture. She had all the decor from the era including a record player with many vintage records to choose from. From the first moment we arrived at the campground to check in, we were treated like VIP guests. Offered cold water on a hot day, Rocket candies(how vintage!), given loonies for the public showers(though the shower in Roxanne is perfect), and complete with a guided tour of Roxanne. Ryan was so accommodating right from booking in to check out(and beyond). He gave us our privacy but at the same time, when he would see us outside, he would ask if we needed anything at all. At check out, we asked about purchasing the super cool keychain that hung from our trailer key. They didn't have extras for sale but 2 weeks after arriving home, we received a call from Ryan letting us know that he got us a keychain and he is mailing it to us. The absolute best service, convenient location, clean and quiet campground, and a funky trailer with all the fixings. Thank you Ryan and Vintage Vacations for making our stay one we will never forget! We will be back!!!
Enjoyed my stay at Vintage Vacations immensely. I stayed in "Margaux" and I would definitely recommend it to other single campers, or those looking for two twin beds. The novelty of staying in a retro Airstream was great, but even if it eventually wears off I still plan on returning. It had all the amenities I needed for a two day stay and was affordable compared to other options in the area. Plus the proximity to Shubie Beach and the Canal made for great days of paddling. Thanks Ryan and staff, looking forward to coming back again!
A hidden gem just outside Halifax Nova Scotia. Fantastic facilities and amazing staff. A truly unique camping experience
We absolutely loved our stay at Vintage Vacations! We stayed in “Rose” and celebrated a milestone birthday! It was amazing, so clean, the beds were so comfortable and the staff were just amazing! As first time glampers we needed to learn the ropes and the staff members were so friendly, welcoming and answered all our questions! I cannot wait to return and highly recommend Vintage Vacations at Shubie Campground!
