The Westin Nova Scotian offers a convenient waterfront location near downtown Halifax and the train station, praised for its helpful staff and proximity to attractions. Recent reviews highlight improvements to some rooms and the overall positive experience, particularly for guests with mobility needs. However, some guests have experienced issues with misleading room photos, restaurant service, and inflated fees.

I hosted a wedding shower for my daughter this weekend. The room was set perfectly for the event. The staff were really attentive to our needs, checking in before and during the event. I had to make a small adjustment to the floor plan the day of due to small children now coming. The staff acted quickly to set up a small area for the children to entertain themselves with coloring and stickers. Everything flowed so great from start to finish. Everyone was friendly and sociable, it made everyone at ease Thanks for making this memorable event a great one.

The location of the hotel was charming, and the concierge provided friendly service. However, the rooms showed signs of age, featuring old carpets and sunken beds. I was moved to a room with a slightly better bed, which was appreciated. Housekeeping was consistently excellent throughout my stay, and room service offered a delightful welcome treat. Unfortunately, the front office manager was less accommodating. Despite giving the impression the night before that she would assist with a late check-out, I was later informed through the receptionist that there would be a charge of $50 per hour. A more straightforward response regarding the late check-out fee would have been preferred.

Stayed here for a weekend for a local sailing event and would do so again. Check-in was smooth, room was clean and we had a good view of the harbour-front. The pool and hot tub were also a nice touch and great to relax there after a long day. It is close to the harbour front and if you’re staying in the area, it’s possible to walk everywhere. There is a restaurant in the lobby and the food was delicious too. Great service.

Location is excellent near waterfront. On the first night, room was terribly shop worn with a couple of bad holes or tears in carpet. Room air very stale. The photos of the room reservation off THEIR site included a lovely shot of the shoreline from the room window under the 2 queen traditional. Thus, I made a reservation for that room. But the actual room I was assigned has a view of all city and construction. See the differences in what I saw and what I actually got- below. We did communicate our displeasure to the staff. On the second night, staff moved us to an improved room and view of water. So it was an inconvenience and however rectified with us, the misleading photos should be removed. Just don’t be fooled by any photos on their sight and make your concerns known at check in.

I have absolutely loved staying here! The reception staff were friendly and informative, the rooms immaculately clean and the food…out of this world! The bar staff were efficient and so nice that I not only decided to have a glass of wine but also decided to stay for dinner. Then I met Tracy…if you have ever had the pleasure of having her serve you, you know exactly who I’m referring to. Her energy is infectious and her service impeccable! Thank you so much for treating me like a queen. Hands down..5 star all around.

Lovely hotel. When you walked it, it smelled amazing and it kept that vibe through the whole stay. Front desk were super helpful with wake ups, and any requests. Food at the breakfast was awesome. Huge selection and everything was delicious. Very prompt with coffee refills. Great omelet station. The rooms were super comfortable and I love the little touches like lavender spray for your pillows and the quality toiletries. Bed was super comfortable. Fluffy pillows and cozy blankets. Quick walk to everything downtown and we arrived by train so it was extremely convenient to walk off the train and into the hotel. Amazing and I would recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at The Westin Nova Scotian. The location is excellent—it's very close to the Discovery Centre, which was a huge plus for us. While the room was a bit smaller than what you might find at the newer Marriott hotels, it still felt luxurious and perfectly consistent with the high standards of the Westin brand. The service was top-notch, especially the friendly valet team, and the self-serve parking was very convenient. One thing to note: the saltwater pool and hot tub are great features, but they can get pretty busy during peak times. Overall, a fantastic experience!

The hotel was very well kept, rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food provided for the conference we attended at the hotel was amazing, fresh and in abundance. The location of this hotel on the harbor front was an added bonus with a beautiful view of the water from our room. It was in walking distance of everywhere we needed to go.

I wish I could leave more than 5 stars. We spent Valentine's weekend here and it was incredible. The location of this beautiful landmark hotel really gives you the opportunity to explore downtown Halifax. The local flavors are everywhere. The proximity to the Seaport Market and incredible downtown restaurants make this a great location. But you need not to venture out for incredible 5 star dining, the restaurant serves some of the best dining you could experience. But what really makes this hotel a standout is the staff. They are amazing! From the front desk to the bar and wait staff it is top notch. If you get the privilege of having Tracy as your server you are blessed. Thank you for an incredible weekend ??
