We had a wonderful stay at Shubie Campground! After reading some of the reviews I was nervous but they were all untrue. This camp ground has a cute beach area, hiking paths and kayaking area. The campground is well maintained with great sites. There is a nice park right next door with lots of activities for families. My husband and I stayed for four nights and had a wonderful stay. Close to Halifax with a short ferry ride to the boardwalk area. This place is a gem we would definitely recommend it and hope to return in the near future. If you visit say Hi to Ryan J in the office he is very helpful!!
This is an urban campground, but you would never know it. It looks and feels like a campground deep in the woods. It's close to hiking trails and lakes and rivers. But you can hear the highway right outside the fence. The showers were fine, the bathrooms clean. The staff were wonderfully helpful. Uber is a mere 7 minutes to Dartmouth and a few more minutes on the ferry and you are in the city of Halifax. The camping is a little cramped, not a lot of distance between sites. But the service connections for electric and water worked fine.
We stayed here while attending a dragon boat paddling clinic. The location was so convenient. Bathrooms were always clean. The walking trails and the beach were great The staff were so friendly and helpful especially Ryan J. I missed getting the lady’s name in the office but she was awesome. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great week.
Shubie is a fantastic camp spot. Well organized, clean facilities, and impeccable landscaping. It's quiet and has everything you need for peaceful and relaxing camping (or glamping if you're lucky enough to stay in the vintage units.... swoon!) and none of the yucky, resorty loudness and craziness of the commercial/corporate campgrounds. The staff was arguably the best part..... Kind, helpful, happy to be there and happy to have you be their guest. Carmella, Ryan J, Ryan A and Drew really went out of their way to make everybody's stay the very best. They operate that place like a well-oiled machine. I loved it and can't wait to go back!
We had a fantastic stay at Shubie Campground! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they went above and beyond by providing excellent recommendations for local biking trails along with trail maps. Their advice made exploring the area so much easier and more enjoyable. The campground is very well maintained, and the washrooms and shower facilities were spotless throughout our stay. The location is another huge advantage—it’s close to great restaurants, shopping, and just minutes from a beautiful beach and park with amazing walking and biking trails. It’s the perfect combination of nature and convenience. If you’re looking for a clean, quiet campground with outstanding customer service and easy access to everything Halifax/Dartmouth has to offer, I highly recommend Shubie Campground. We’ll definitely be back!
I had a delightful time at the campground. Ryan and the rest of the staff were helpful and friendly. The facilities were great-- clean washroom, showers and laundry. The location was great. I didn't have a car, but the bus stop was a short walk away. And I can't rave enough about Margeux! What a better way to spend a week then in a vintage Airstream trailer!!
RV Site #6. Awesome stay. Great service and friendly staff. Very clean and quiet. Great place to stay if you want to visit all of Halifax. Close to amenities and stores. Shout out to Ryan J. Lol.. We will be coming back!
I've been three times and i will be sure to come back again soon. I have a little tent and love how easy it is to find your campsite. There is running water, clean washrooms, and a beautiful beach! Love taking my paddleboard here.
The good thing about the site is their proximity to Halifax. Very easy and fast to get to downtown Halifax. That is the only reason to camp here. Otherwise it is a sad campsite basically a parking ground with grass and ok service.
This was my first stay at Shubie Campground. It is well located for those who want to visit HRM, Halifax Regional Municipality. It has good washroom and laundry facilities, a little dated but clean, well maintained and in good condition. The campsites are very good, ample size, well spaced, mostly level, with natural grass and gravel finishes. Lots of trees around and interesting topography. The campground boarders a well appointed municipal park. The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend you stay as I certainly intend to do again.
